This vessel is the first example where the artist has done three-dimensional flowers and creatures inside the open vessel as apposed to ordinarily placing them on the outer surface as per usual when decorating her vases. It is an exciting and intelligent evolution of her ideas around decoration and the art object. This artist who came to ceramics only after retiring from full-time academia, jumped right in and immediately caused ripples of excitement, she has a unique approach and never fails to surprise.
