Collectors FAQ
- How Can I Get More Inforemation About the Work?
- If you would like more information regarding a piece you are interested in, click the “ENQUIRE” button on the artwork’s page. We will then introduce you directly to the seller, who can answer all your questions.
- Are Taxes And Shipping Included In The List Price?
- All prices are listed ex VAT, and exclude shipping. If you are a South African client, or shipping to a South African address, 15% VAT will be added to your final quotation. If you select the Buy Now option, shipping will be calculated at checkout. Alternatively, you can select the Enquire button and provide your shipping address, and the seller will advise you on shipping costs.
- How Does Latitudes Ensure You Buy With Confidence?
- When you browse and buy on Latitudes, you are viewing work from independent sellers, but you can rest assured Latitudes has approved all sellers, and has a personal relationship with them. While we are not sellers ourselves, and therefore do not take responsibility for the condition of the artwork received, we do guarantee that the sellers we connect you with are reputable. What's more, we recommend a list of trusted preferred suppliers for shipping, framing and logistics, to ensure your work arrives in excellent condition. We also copy you in an introductory mail to the seller. As such you have our details in your inbox and can contact us regarding any queries or concerns.
- Why Do Some Artwoks Show Prices, While Others Don't?
- On Latitudes, artworks are sold by hundreds of different artists, organisations and galleries. While we encourage all sellers to include prices, the information is presented at their discretion. If an artwork you are interested in does not have a listed price, please press the ENQUIRE button and request the information from the seller.
- Do Works Come Framed?
- Usually works are unframed, giving you the freedom to frame to your preference. Latitudes partners with and recommends David Lewis Browne Framers for all your framing needs. Established in 1974, their Johannesburg-based studio is well known for excellence in custom made frames, gilded frames & restoration, conservation grade framing, and expert advice for the presentation of artworks. DLB also offers an art copy service for archiving and cataloguing of artworks done in their high end photographic studio on the premises. DLB’s full service offering to the art market also includes packaging, and collections & deliveries. You can consult with DLB remotely or visit their oasis in Wynberg and be treated with a good cup of coffee. We’d suggest the latter. For more information visit: dlewisbrowne.co.za
