THE TOWERS

Mncela has lived in shacks from the street life for over sometime and he has a confident pride to call a shack his heaven. This emanates from the turmoil of living in the streets of Cape Town as a homeless person, striving at every effort to have a roof over his head. The acquiring of shack gas been more of a success story for him. In his depiction of packed shacks, Mncela personalizes this situation in accordance with the rules set about by higher authorities as a grievance while verging on the significance of the pleasures of being ‘alone’ and in touch with his spiritual soul.  He knits together the past abnormalities of apartheid resettlement’s, the present uncertainties and ancestral worship that he must both abide to as invisible unknowns.
