Ncaphayi describes his work as painting or mark making to make representational works. He grew up with a lot of musicians listening to jazz. Listening to music, most of the time, at some point, he experiences a mind shift and instead of just working listening to music, he creates to what the music does to him in the moment. By translating this, his abstracts emerge.
