Beast is a metaphor for our own desires and impulses that drive us sometimes to make decisions which bring us into conflict with the environment in which we must survive. We watch our species create unnecessary chaos and destruction. The creation of this series is part of my ongoing attempt to understand why we seem to make the same mistakes over and over again. Humans are apparently the only species that does not, by default, make decisions that are in our own best interests. Climate destruction and our refusal to acknowledge our role in it is my primary concern. My images are often inspired by the imagery of graphic novels, Manga and historical Chinese, Japanese and Indian imagery. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0cm; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"\u003eI first devised and employed the woollen dust on paper medium in 2004 and have developed it in my practice over a number of years in various ways.
