Cassian Robbertze
Cassian Robbertze is an emerging artist from Cape Town. He specialises in sculpture. During COVID Lockdown he expanded his knowledge to include digital sculpture and 3d printing. He is currently in his 4th and final year at The Michaelis School of Fine Art, under the supervision of Jane Alexander. Before studying at Michaelis he worked as an assistant sculptor to Jean Doyle and as an Art Tutor at Rathkeale College in New Zealand.
He has participated in a number of group shows including “Liminal Hiatus” at Gallery11 and a group show at The Mullers Gallery. The Art Bank of South Africa acquired three of his artworks which are now on permanent display at the Oliewenhuis Museum in Bloemfontein. In 2021 he took part in the ArtLabs mentorship program with Latitudes with Dr. Willie Bester as his mentor.
Cassian grew up in Cape Town and continues to practice art at his studio in Salt River and at the Michealis School of Fine Art. He uses instagram as a way to document the creation of his works.
