Exhibitor Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have any questions about your Latitudes Online profile? Don't worry, we've got you covered with our frequently asked questions.
Latitudes Online
What are the perks to listing my organisation or artworks on Latitudes?
Latitudes is the largest online marketplace dedicated to art from Africa. By listing with us, your work is marketed to a broad international audience - including collectors, corporate buyers, interior designers, and industry professionals. Our team actively promotes your work through SEO, social media, email campaigns, paid advertising, and direct buyer enquiries, helping you connect with the right audience and grow your visibility and sales.
How can I maximise visibility of my artworks on Latitudes?
To increase your visibility on Latitudes, we encourage you to keep your profile active and up to date. Upload new works regularly, refresh details of existing pieces, and let us know about any upcoming exhibitions, residencies or noteworthy projects. A consistent presence on the platform helps our curatorial and sales teams keep you top of mind when presenting work to collectors, corporate clients and designers. Exhibitors who actively maintain their profiles tend to receive more page views and higher engagement overall.
Do my artworks need to be listed exclusively with Latitudes?
Not at all. We fully support you showcasing your work across various platforms and spaces. Your exhibitor profile on Latitudes is designed to amplify your practice or organisation - not limit it. We simply ask that if an artwork listed on your profile is sold elsewhere, you either remove it or mark it as sold.
If you're an independent artist, we also recommend informing other galleries or platforms that you exhibit independently on Latitudes to avoid any potential conflicts with their consignment terms.
How can I report an issue?
Step 1: Send an email to our Webmaster at customercare@latitudes.online
Step 2: In the email, please include:
- A clear description of the problem
- When the issue occurred
- What browser and device you are using (if relevant)
- Screenshots of the issue (where possible)
Examples of issues to report include:
- Images not uploading or displaying correctly
- Trouble accessing your exhibitor dashboard
- Broken links or error messages
- Login or password reset issues
Our Response & Resolution Process
- Acknowledgement: You will receive an initial response within 24 hours of your issue being logged.
- Resolution: Our team will investigate and aim to provide feedback or a resolution within 48 hours. If the issue requires more extensive work, we will keep you updated throughout the process.
For urgent issues:
If your issue is time-sensitive, please mark your subject line with “[URGENT]” so we can prioritise it appropriately.
What projects does Latitudes run that my artworks can be included in?
Latitudes runs a series of in-house projects and we use our website to source artworks for these. Most notably, our Art Agency works with interior designers, architectural firms and corporate spaces to procure art for their projects or offices. We focus on sourcing works from our network, and encourage you to keep your page updated with recent works and share catalogues with our art agency team. We also run smaller curated selections for our top collectors which are shared in a dedicated mailer every two weeks.
SALES AND LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT
What is the sales process?
- Latitude's Sales team contacts the exhibitor and confirms availability.
- Exhibitors should respond promptly. Answer all buyer questions (condition, provenance, shipping, discounts, etc.) within 24 hours. Delays may lead to lost sales or reduced visibility on the platform.
- Shipping Coordination: Latitudes manages most shipping requests, but may request exhibitors to package and liaise with couriers directly in certain cases (e.g., international shipments).
- Artworks should be dropped off within 2 days of shipping payment - either to the closest courier partner or to Latitudes Centre (if in Johannesburg). We will discuss this with you ahead of the sale.
- Exhibitors will be paid 14 days after the client receives their artwork, so as to allow for possible return requests. This very seldom happens, but is a legal requirement under the CPA.
What happens if I sell my item somewhere else?
Congratulations on your sale! You may log in to Latitudes and select the toggle to mark your work as sold. Please do so timeously so that we do not market an item to our customers that is no longer available.
Do you assist with framing?
Latitudes works with a series of recommended framers across the country. We are more than happy to facilitate an introduction to the client.
