Through The Lens Collective is a Johannesburg-based organization dedicated to nurturing the next generation of contemporary photographers. Established in 2018 and located at the vibrant Victoria Yards, we provide a crucial space for emerging artists to develop their skills, exhibit their work, and connect with a community of practitioners.

Our offerings range from advanced photography courses and portfolio reviews to individual mentorship programs. We are committed to creating platforms for visibility, such as our annual Everyday A Woman social media exhibition, which showcases women photographers across Africa.

The Collective has gained international recognition for its work, including a special mention at the Rencontres d'Arles Curatorial Research Grants and being featured in Lenscratch’s prestigious ‘Focus on South Africa’.
