Kaelik Dullaart
Kaelik Dullaart was born in 1996 in Johannesburg, South Africa. Growing up with photographer parents inspired Dullaart to pursue his own studies in photography at the Market Photo Workshop. His exposure to the medium has been an integral part of how he deals with imagery and composition in his creative process.
Dullaart is currently obsessed with drawings, predominantly working with pen on paper, however continues to explore multiple mediums such as handmade skateboard decks and self-publishes zines. His work explores his journey to self-discovery by navigating and expressing his personal experiences through his artistic practice. Kaelik zooms into his interest in human behaviour, which is largely shaped by internal dialogues and prevalent expressions. It is Dullaart’s hope to build connections with his audience, both intellectual and emotional.
Dullaart’s work has been shown in group shows including “The Cat Show”, David Krut Projects, Joburg Art Fringe 2018, and has recently exhibited works with the Peanut Noir collective, at Through The Lens (TTLC), Victoria yards.
