Masindi Mbolekwa
Masindi Ikhona Nafisa Mbolekwa (b.2002) is a visual artist living and practicing in Johannesburg, South Africa. Having acquired an Honours in Fine Arts from the University of The Witwatersrand in 2023, he has participated in group exhibitions with Moleskine Foundation, Asisebenze Art Atelier, Denzil’s and Jo, Saint Lorient Gallery and Keyes Art Mile. Mbolekwa’s work is an exploration of binaries and the ways in which they shape our understanding of boundaries, otherness, cultural identity and metaphysical reality. Through careful referencing and symbolic language he creates conversation about the history and language of figurative painting and it’s place in the contemporary art canon.
