Working primarily in acrylic with a muted palette, Boya creates intimate portraits that focus on the eyes, drawing viewers into quiet yet powerful encounters with his subjects. Raised in post-apartheid Johannesburg and trained in film at the University of Cape Town, his practice moves fluidly between strength and vulnerability, blending archival and contemporary references.
