The image 'Umyalelo Wentliziyo' was inspired by how Christianity in the Cape Colony was dominant and no religion was permitted, Christians were given laws to abide within the religion 'laws' they ought to behave to things in a submissive way, like "walking softly in the century" concerning the land and internal migration. My parents moved from their 'homes', leaving their roots and never going back, the representation of gravestones is a symbol of leaving but never coming back.
