This photograph features two figures standing close together in a cornfield at night, surrounded by tall green stalks and illuminated by scattered golden light resembling falling grains or sparks. Both subjects wear light blue, textured shirts adorned with golden corn-shaped brooches and hold ears of blue and gold corn. Their faces are obscured by corn husks that drape over their heads, merging them symbolically with the surrounding plants. The dark background enhances the glow of the floating lights and the reflective textures of the clothing and corn. This photograph is part of the Power of Alliances series, inspired by the symbols of the seven founding families of the N’zima Kôtôkô community of Grand-Bassam. The photograph is also available in two other sizes: 100 x 66 cm and 80 x 53 cm.
