Chidimma Nwafor (b. 1995, Onitsha, Nigeria) is a Lagos-based painter whose figurative oil paintings explore imagined memory, dreams, and the psychological space between absence and presence. Drawing from personal experience, she examines longing, sisterhood, loss, and transformation, creating dream-like compositions where memory, imagination, and reality intersect. Her work has been exhibited in Nigeria and internationally, including with Rele Arts Foundation, Kuenyehia Prize, and Mitochondrial Gallery. Nwafor was a finalist for the Art X Prize (2023) and Kuenyehia Prize (2024), and was shortlisted for the Cassirer Welz Award (2025). She holds a B.A. in Fine and Applied Arts from the University of Benin.
