Fasil Seboka (b. 2000, Ethiopia) is a contemporary painter based in Addis Ababa whose practice centres on semi-abstract figurative painting. A graduate of Addis Ababa University's Alle School of Fine Arts and Design, where he completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2025, Seboka combines expressive mark-making with layered compositions to investigate themes of memory, identity, and human connection. Working primarily in oil paint, he balances gestural abstraction with recognisable forms, creating emotionally resonant works that reflect both personal experience and broader social narratives. His paintings are characterised by dynamic brushwork, rich textures, and an intuitive approach to colour, inviting viewers to engage with the fluid relationship between figure and space. Through his evolving practice, Seboka explores the complexities of contemporary life, using painting as a means of expressing the emotional and psychological dimensions of the human experience.
