Givan Lötz
ZA

Givan Lötz is a painter, sculpture and musician working in Johannesburg.
Lötz is interested in spaces of emotional resonance.
In his work, he manipulates the capacity for paint to render organic forms and natural cycles of growth and decay.
This process forms part of a personal visual shorthand, creating a world we recognise but cannot explain.

Lötz has been included in the ABSA L’Atelier Top 100 in 2012, 2013 and 2014 and Design Days Dubai in 2014 and 2015 with five residencies in the last few years from locations as far ranging as Finland, New York and Cape Town. Lötz was selected for a solo showcase at RMB Latitudes 2025 (JHB) and recently included in a prestigious institutional group show titled "Abstract" at Rupert Museum (CPT).
Solo shows: Memory Exposure (2018); Unearthly (2020); Close But Not Too Close (2021); Murmurs (2022); A Middle Distance (2024) and Notes from the Fire (2025).
