Jack Markovitz (b.1999) is a director and photographic artist living in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has screened and exhibited his work in North America, Africa, the Middle East and Europe. His award-winning short films I'M NOT HERE, HIPHOPSTAR37, JEWFRO and DARK SILENCE ON SPORTS AVENUE are rooted in a deep trust with his subjects, with an intent to create provocative, uncomfortable depictions of South Africa as it currently exists.
