Leonardo Sitoe (b. 2000) is a multidisciplinary visual artist born in South Africa and based in Johannesburg, with familial roots in Maputo, Mozambique. Working primarily with wood, his practice draws on Afro-Surrealism to explore dreaming as a lens for understanding the diasporic experience. Through this framework, he unearths the memory and potential embedded in his materials, allowing them to invoke acts of reclamation against racialised, displaced, colonised histories.
