Award-winning photographer and visual activist Lindeka Qampi (b.1969) began taking photographs in 2006, when she met members of the Iliso Labantu a community-based photo collective. Her gift for capturing the lives of women and communities has ensured that Qampi's works reside in museums and private collections worldwide. She began her career as a street photographer photographing weddings, events, and portraits but moved on to exploring her community in different ways including a project on street culture shown here. A recent film, Life Framed, has been made about Lindeka Qampi's extraordinary talent, her life, and her work.
