Oh Weetie
South Africa

Tamara Weetman is a South African illustrator, designer, and lecturer based in Stellenbosch. Working under her studio Oh Weetie, she creates vibrant, narrative-driven digital illustrations inspired by everyday life, human truth and connection, music, and the places people call home.
Her practice spans illustration and design, with a particular interest in storytelling, memory, and placemaking. She also writes for academic conferences and journal publications, extending her practice into research-led reflection on design, illustration, and participatory creative processes. Alongside this, she is a watercolour illustrator, and loves capturing events, moments, and environments in real time through expressive, observational drawing.
Through illustration, she documents and reimagines the people, objects, and environments that shape our experiences, often combining observation, humour, and nostalgia. Her work celebrates the joys of ordinary moments and the quirky human truths that connect us.
Alongside her creative practice, Tamara lectures in visual communication and holds a Master’s degree in Design. Her work has been exhibited in multiple group and solo exhibitions, her graphic design has been used internationally and locally and she continues to explore illustration as a tool for connection, reflection, and storytelling.
