Born in 1992, Omolola Coker is a Lagos, Nigeria–based figurative and batik artist working with dye, oil, and acrylic. Her practice explores themes of home, rest, heritage, identity, and relationships, creating an intimate dialogue between the physical and spiritual. Incorporating adiré, the traditional Yoruba wax-resist dyeing technique, she layers historical motifs of hope and resilience with realistic figurative painting. Her work reflects on cultural inheritance and the evolving nature of identity in a global context. Coker was shortlisted for the inaugural Myma Art Prize (2026), presented her debut solo exhibition In Bloom (2025), and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
