Artwork
Thato Toeba is a Lesotho artist and legal scholar currently called flattendacurve (b.1990, Maseru). She shares visuals of continuing thoughts on personhood, politics, propaganda, nationality, globalisation, law and culture. Her work is influenced by her suspicion of formal things (culture law, politics, institutions,) as sober, objective, neutral tools in resolving growing crises of being here in the world today. She speculates on the intrusion of formal things in the emancipated joy of life, womb to tomb and fantasises about some kind of sweet chaos to be master in a less theorised life.
She is a LLD candidate at UWC.
