Wisdom Uche (born 1993) is a Nigerian painter known for his Neo-Expressionist Figurative paintings. His work is psychologically playful, characterized by bold vibrant colours, stylized faces, and expressive lines that communicate emotion and explore the complexities of the human experience. He studied at the School of Art, Yaba College of Technology, Lagos State. Wisdom Uche contrasts notions of family with the encroaching reality of solitude that symptomises our contemporaneity. Combining figurative style with neoexpressionism, and featuring the postured body with a palette of whimsical emoticons for a face, the works leave us to contemplate and infer the implied dispositions and relationships of the portrayed figures.
