Amy Ayanda Lester (b. 1992) is a Cape Town-based artist and musician with an Honours degree in Painting from the Michaelis School of Fine Art, UCT. Her vibrant abstract works draw inspiration from the local landscape — its flora, colours, and people — while reflecting on her family’s history of forced removal from their flower farm during Apartheid. Exploring themes of memory, loss, and beauty, Lester’s intuitive use of colour captures emotion in its immediate, playful form.

In 2024, she collaborated with printmaker Roxy Kaczmarek at the David Krut Workshop, created a series of vessels with Natasha Human, and presented new works at the Latitudes Art Fair.
