Carina Ubisse Capitine is a Mozambican artist, curator, and communications professional working at the intersection of art and communication. As a curator, she is interested in facilitating access to artists and creative practices from underrepresented communities, with particular attention to Afrocentric aesthetics, ancestral knowledge, and experiences shaped by gender. Her practice seeks to challenge dominant narratives, disrupt power imbalances, and create spaces for critical reflection and dialogue.

Her recent curatorial projects include Gineceu III – Artistic Residency for Associação Kulungwana, Maputo (2026), and Digitalisation, Artificial Intelligence and Feminist Futures at Museu Mafalala, Maputo (2025). She is also an alumna of the CuratorsLab programme by LATITUDES Online, where she presented the online exhibition Corpos de Ser. Carina is the founder of CaVa – Curated Life Events, a cultural production and curatorial initiative, and KAPPÁUSSÊ Ceramic Studio, dedicated to valuing and supporting the circulation of traditional Mozambican ceramic art and craft.

She holds a Master’s degree in Communication and Development Studies from Ohio University, USA, as a 2020 Fulbright Scholar, and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences from Universidade Politécnica, Mozambique.
