Gbolahan Ayoola

Gbolahan Ayoola (b. 1977, Ibadan, Nigeria) is a Nigerian multidisciplinary artist whose work explores human behavior, cultural identity, and collective memory through sculpture, installation, and mixed media.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine and Applied Arts from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (2001). With over two decades of practice, Ayoola’s work draws from anthropology and urban experience, translating cultural narratives into visually compelling forms.

His works have been exhibited widely across Africa and Europe and are held in several private collections. Selected exhibitions and art fairs include African Artists’ Foundation (Lagos), Rele Gallery (Lagos), Galerie 23 (Amsterdam), Kanbi Contemporary (London), Arc Gallery (London), AG18 Gallery (Vienna, 2024), Dakar Biennale OFF (2024), 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair, London (2023), and Investec Cape Town Art Fair (2024).
