My interest in philosophy and the art of balance are the driving force behind my thinking. I draw my inspiration from nature, it stills and stimulates my mind.
As a sculptor I appreciate the Earth as the Mother kiln of all formations. Lava Tectonic Earth Time Day + Night Feminine + Masculine Soft + Hard I explore questions that connect the whole through a combination of stone and metal as a natural reunion ( outside the womb of Mother Nature). I side with the theory of historian Juval Noah Harari, who writes in 21 lessons for the 21st century… “in a world in which everything is interconnected, the supreme moral imperative becomes the imperative to know.”
Currently I am working on a series of sculptures that explore time and the things we cannot see. Here I am influenced by the theorist Antonio Damasio’s ‘The Strange Order of things’ especially his views on how to achieve homeostasis by seeking a stable balance between interdependent elements. I believe that matter holds frequency, and frequency matters.
