Onke Ngcuka (b. 1995, eKapa, Azania) is a multidisciplinary creative working at the intersection of art, film, and environmental storytelling. Rooted in Xhosa indigenous wisdom, her practice explores inkululeko (freedom) through uthando lomhlabaβ€”love for the land and its people. Her ongoing exhibition, embo where we once knew, presented with Latitudes Online, extends her exploration of nature-native relations. A former journalist with Reuters, AmaBhungane, and Daily Maverick’s Our Burning Planet, Ngcuka continues to weave themes of memory, love, and ecology into her creative practice.
