What We Carry: A Viewpoint of Liminal Existence

28 October – 2 December 2026
Description

What we carry brings together six artists to consider identity as something continuously formed through inheritance, memory, movement and lived experience.

Across these practices the past does not remain behind us. it is carried through bodies, objects, language, food, images, relationships and material. Sometimes inheritance is immediately visible; at other Times it survives as a trace. may be obscured, fragmented, transformed or felt without being fully known.

The exhibition occupies the space between what is received and what is remade: between ancestry and self- authorship, remembering and forgetting, belonging and becoming. Rather than understanding reclamation as a return to an untouched past, what we carry considers it an active relationship with inheritance. what we receive may be preserved, questioned transformed or refused.

We inherit, we carry, we remake or sometimes even refuse.
