In this series of three artworks, I celebrate the diverse beauty of black women. My intention is to shine a spotlight on the women who have surrounded and inspired me throughout my life, leaving an everlasting impact on my identity as both a person and an artist. Each piece in the series features a different woman, yet they all share a common thread of strength, resilience, and inspiration.
The stories behind each woman are both unique and relatable, resulting in a collection that captivates and sparks contemplation. I use acrylic paints on canvas, accompanied by the inclusion of yellow wool as a symbol representing the golden thread that connects us all. This addition only enhances the exquisite nature of this transformative series.
