Bronwyn Davis' work largely interrogates Johannesburg night life culture, as being a space of escapism for a youth crippled with the weight of a socio-economically precarious South Africa. Her club paintings capture a site of exorbitant pleasure attempts, masking something more concerning. In her works, forms meld into each other, escaping their own realities of race, gender and sexuality.
