Standing my ground

My art practice is a fluid exploration of memory, identity, unresolved narratives, and evolving dialogues between past experiences and present reflections relating to political, social, and relational concerns that linger beneath the surface. Other times it serves as a direct mirror of my current state of mind. The process begins with the collection of found and manipulated images, visual fragments that carry their own identity. These images are digitally assembled and then deliberately deconstructed, a method of breaking apart conventional interpretations to uncover new possibilities. Once printed, they are physically recomposed into dynamic collages, forming humanoid figures with strikingly exaggerated features like the eyes, hands, legs, shoes, and accessories that distort proportions and challenge perception. These distortions are intentional, heightening the emotional and conceptual impact of each piece, allowing the figures to transcend realism and enter a space of symbolic abstraction. In blending digital manipulation with physical reconstruction, my work exists at the intersection of control and chaos, careful assembly and disruptive fragmentation. Each piece becomes an inquiry into the fluid nature of selfhood, an examination of how identities shift, evolve, and are reimagined.
