The Outcome

The Outcome depicts a man in an ochre jacket kneeling over a body on the ground. The image is stark, physical and unsettling. There is no distance between the viewer and the scene; we are made to confront the aftermath rather than the event itself. This ambiguity is central to the work. The Outcome asks us to consider how easily the roles of victim, witness, perpetrator and survivor can become entangled. What we see is not necessarily the whole story , only the moment after everything has already changed.
