"The solution to the problem"

I created this mixed-media artwork during the COVID-19 period while studying at Artist Proof Studio. Working with charcoal, oil pastels, watercolour, and acrylic paint on Fabriano acid- and chlorine-free paper, I sought to explore the urgent realities of climate change and humanity's responsibility toward the environment. My work is often inspired by the challenges I encounter and observe in society, and this piece reflects my concern for the impact of environmental degradation on present and future generations. The imagery contrasts pollution, industrial activity, and the effects of disease with symbols of hope, innovation, and renewable energy. Through the divided portrait, I represent humanity at a critical crossroads, faced with choices that will shape the future of our planet. As an artist, I aim to tell untold stories and create work that encourages reflection and dialogue. This artwork was created as part of The Green Recovery Portfolio project at Artist Proof Studio and serves as a call for awareness, collective action, and a commitment to building a more sustainable and equitable future.
