Barreiro in Ecologies: Architecture, #5

Barreiro in Ecologies: Architecture, #5 (2025) Inkjet print on cotton Fine Art paper As part of Ecologies in Architecture, Eunice Pais explores the town she lives in Portugal, paying close attention to the relationship between its built environment, surrounding landscape and the everyday lives shaped by both. Her practice considers how places accumulate traces of human activity, memory and change, and how architecture exists within the natural surroundings that shape it. By looking closely at a familiar environment, she reveals the histories and ecological relationships embedded within the seemingly ordinary.
