Day of resurrection

Day of resurrection (2026) Oil and acrylic on canvas The Day of Resurrection imagines a communal gathering shaped by water, ritual and acts of giving. Figures carry vessels, pour water and tend to one another, creating a scene in which everyday gestures take on a spiritual significance. The large earthen vessel held at the centre suggests the importance of carrying, preserving and passing something forward. Against the vivid landscape, water becomes a source of renewal, while the idea of resurrection extends beyond religious imagery towards the possibility of cultural memory and ancestral knowledge being continually brought back into the present.
