This winter, Nel Gallery present “Wagkamer / Indlu Yokulinda / Waiting Room”, a group exhibition that reimagines the often-mundane experience of waiting.
Have you ever found yourself lost in thought or desperately seeking visual stimulation while waiting in a sterile, uninspiring space? This exhibition aims to transform those ubiquitous waiting rooms into vibrant havens through the creative lens of various artists.
The artists are invited to reimagine waiting areas in different contexts, from a doctor's office to an airport lounge. They can choose any medium for their wall-based artwork, creating pieces that resonate with the specific waiting space.
The theme of waiting itself is also open to interpretation by the artists. Whether they depict specific situations or evoke broader emotions associated with waiting, their work will be a compelling conversation starter in these liminal spaces.
