Afimaa Amiteye

Afimaa Amiteye, born in 1985 in Accra, Ghana, is a painter and art educator based in Kumasi. She holds both a Bachelor of Fine Art Painting (Honours, 2008) and a Master’s in Fine Art Painting (2014) from the esteemed Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Amiteye's artistic practice centers on her keen interest in exploring colors within figurative painting. Her work delves into how vibrant hues can articulate and enhance the human form and narrative.

Her exhibition history includes the MFA Painting group exhibition in 2012 at Gyinyasi, Kumasi, where she explored the theme "Collage as Metaphor: Exploring the hybridity of slums in Urban spaces." More recently, Afimaa Amiteye has gained further recognition through her participation in the Latitudes Curator Lab in 2023, showcasing her evolving artistic vision to a broader audience.
