David Tsoka
David Tsoka (b. 1992) is a visual artist from Kwa-Thema in Springs. He
completed his Matric at Phulong Secondary School in 2010 and went on to
study Printmaking at Artist Proof Studios. After completing his 3rd year, he
was appointed as Gallery Assistant at the Studio. Due to his talent as a
printmaker and as an artist, David was appointed in the Pro-Shop as an intern
and a collaborative printer.
David has showcased his work in various local and international Art Fairs and exhibitions. His work has been featured in publications such as House and Leisure and Creative Feel. His ability to work under pressure and self-managerial qualities and skills has seen him collaborate with critically acclaimed artists such as William Kentridge, Victor Kuster, Jazzmen Johnson (American artist) Sthembiso Zwane. His engagement in the studio has seen his skills used by Tracker as part of their CSI initiatives, working with people from different backgrounds and in community-based dialogue and mural paintings. Recent ventures have led him to a collaborative project with Rhumaa (a clothing company).
