Lea Colombo
Colombo’s practice is spontaneous and intuitive, unguarded and intimate. Her artworks reflect how she views both herself and the world. She channels her mediums to explore individuation and to connect with her surroundings. Colombo combines unconventional approaches to create balance – balance that is expressed through the masculine and feminine, shadow and light, colour and desaturated, yin and yang. As a multidisciplinary artist, Colombo works with a range of mediums such as print, photography, painting, and sculpture. Her highly recognizable dark room prints express fluidity and intimacy that engage the viewer on a deeply personal plane. Her exploration of colour through diverse mediums reveals the multiplicity of our connections to a higher consciousness. According to Numéro Art’s editor in chief, Thibaut Wychowanok, “the work of Lea Colombo has become more complex and denser but has always preserved its heart: the colour, omnipresent, frontal and explosive, like a boxer punching the viewer's eye to reach their whole body.”
