The meaning of creation is in the process—overthinking minute, unnoticed details, with a philosophy of creation underpinned by the art of collage; layering materials atop each other in succession on a trial-and-error basis, submitting and learning from mistakes you can’t take back.
My creative process lies heavily on the liminal—the journey. I find the meaning of art in the labour of creation.
I am focused on painting the interplay of colour, form and the representation of the human expression creating a silhouette that teeters between abstraction and recognition. The figure is both present and elusive, a testament to my fascination with the transient nature of identity and the fluidity of the human form.
I paint portraits of optimistic nihilism.
