Babalwa Tom
Babalwa Tom is an expressionist contemporary artist, residing in Bad Buchau Germany.
She was born in Queenstown, South Africa before moving to Cape Town where she studied Cinematography at AFDA (African Film Drama Academy). She then spent two years in the Tsitsikamma forest, where she had the blessed opportunity to rediscover her true being.
Tom's paintings and Illustrations depict subjective emotions from within. Studying cinematography taught Tom composition, depth and reflective light of objects. She desired to express these learnings and her being to move onto canvas.
Tom is deeply influenced by science and spirituality and hopes her art brings into space expansive feelings of love and beauty.
