Maria Thasi
Maria Thasi is a San Ju/’hoansi woman living in Namibia. Working with the Omba Arts Trust and drawing on San cultural resources to develop products, the San artisans are reviving the 72 000-year-old ostrich eggshell bead-making skills. These beads are incorporated by artists into some of their artworks, together with embroidery.
