Laaitie

Being young is less about biological age and more about maturity, experience and development. The term Laaitie is a South African slang for a young person and has been used more often to refer to young boys. 

This artwork is a collaboration with SanaKing, we studied Fine Arts together at The University Of The Witswaterstrand during the COVID19 Pandemic.

We thought about how people in school, staff and students were handling the situation we found ourselves in and wondered what sort of internal landscape was being constructed through this handling. Anyways, the mind is not often the primacy location for logic, often, it is elsewhere.
