Daniella Almona is a photographer and storyteller from Nigeria who uses portraiture as a form of connection. They are dedicated to creating a visual archive of their ever-evolving community and giving people like them the space to reclaim agency over their identities. They are intrigued by colour theory and explore themes of Blackness, femininity, and joy in their portrait and documentary work using analog and digital photographic methods. Almona graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Photography and a minor in Advertising Art Direction (2022) and they are an active member of Black Women Photographers, The Luupe, and Diversify Photo (UpNext). They spent the last five years in Georgia (USA), but they are currently based in Lagos (Nigeria).
