Karin Basel
Karin Basel is an artist and lecturer based in Johannesburg. She currently teaches theory and history for the Visual Art and Design Theory a the University of Johannesburg. She has a masters in Visual Art, obtained from the University of the Johannesburg. She also runs coaching sessions for aspiring artists. Her art education was initially focused on painting and drawing but she is currently making artists books. She is interested in working with a variety of materials, such as thread, wire, paper and found objects, these are incorporated into the books which focus on how we record and engage with time and place.
