Yasmine Amal

Yasmine Amal

Yasmine Amal is a self-taught artist and political scientist with Moroccan heritage, born in Germany. Currently an art fellow at laba Berlin and Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Yasmine's work reflect her commitment to intersectional feminism and social cohesion, particularly between Jewish and Muslim indigenous life in Morocco. Her art is profoundly influenced by her Afro-Arab heritage and her connection to the ocean, often drawing from the vibrant dynamics of coral reefs and Amazigh symbols.

Through Yasmine's work, she honours traditions, embraces environmental responsibility, and fosters spaces for cross-cultural dialogue. By understanding her role as an ancestor-in-the-making, Yasmine seeks to harness the transformative power of art to contribute to collective pursuits and create a future steeped in shared values.
