Dolophina Vilankulu
Dolophina Vilankulu is a female artist born on the 12th December 2000 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
She studied at the University of Johannesburg, where she majored in sculpture and drawing, then later graduated in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Visual Arts. She has worked with galleries such as Thomarts Gallery and Mashumi Arts Project. There she spent her time developing her artistic practice as an assistant curator while studying.
In 2024, she began working closely with Mary Sibande as her mentor under the“Occupying the Gallery” project - established by internationally acclaimed visual artists Mary Sibande and Lawrence Lemaoana. She continues to explore her artistic expression in sculpture and Painting to capture the essence of identity.
