Giuseppe Casamassima

Giuseppe Casamassima
Giuseppe Casamassima (b. 1996; Foggia, Italy) is a contemporary film photographer, accredited journalist, and creative director of the Fernando Di Leo Short Film Festival, an annual short film festival held in Puglia, Italy. Based in the Apulia region, Casamassima has spent the last seven years honing his passion for street photography and cinema, while contributing significantly to various specialized publications, including FilmPost and Cabiria Magazine, as well as the Rome Film Fest and the Venice International Film Festival, as a journalist. Casamassima’s images capture the essence of not only his travels and encounters in Italy and abroad, but also the candid moments that evoke a sense of wanderlust in his images. From the romance of cityscapes to the intimate lens cast on passersby’s and street performers, Casamassima’s current approach to photography is one that echoes an increased desire for connection in a post-pandemic society, as well as snapshots of quiet within the chaos of tourist hot-spots. Casamassima is currently enrolled at the Sapienza University of Rome, pursuing a degree in Communication, Digital Techniques, and Cultures.
