Monjola Adeboye

Monjolaoluwa Adeboye
Monjolaoluwa Adeboye describes her art as a Search for Knowledge. Born and raised in Lagos, Monjolaoluwa has always found herself amid stories. Self-taught, and armed with a deep curiosity, this has enabled Monjola to carve out a niche. Her work utilizes archival photography, self-portraiture, collage, and mixed media to uncover a world beyond what we see while exploring themes of identity, familial history, tradition, and community. Monjolaoluwa has shown work in the Local.Global group exhibit, “All Around the World”, and has had a solo show in collaboration with 16 by 16. She has debuted videography projects for The NATIVE, and directed three films “Feel Right”, “Surrender to the Flow”, and “Onaolapo”.
